Four year old Louis suffers from Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy. When we first met with him, it was clear that the only thing he wanted was to go to Walt Disney to meet some of his favorite characters such as Winnie the Pooh, Buzz and Wall-E. When they got back from their trip we received this message from his mom:
“Our trip was incredible! It was an unforgettable experience to meet Mickey Mouse and Spiderman. Also, taking a ride in a limousine and descending the water glissade to our hotel would be enough to make the children talk about it for years. The week was filled with even more extraordinary things than that! The children saw too much for their eyes to handle, we will never forget this beautiful week we had with our family and Disney.
For Louis it was filled with adventures, pleasures and wonderful memories. He appreciated every single minute. He mentioned his interest for speed and the strong sensations. He screamed “wouhou!” at the time of the three take-offs from airplanes and during the “test track” (road test to Epcot). He was a little shy at the beginning, but he met his favorite characters and finally had a blast. He still talks about when Spiderman took the time to sit with us.
With our first contact with Make-A-Wish® until our return to the house, we met only extremely kind people. Every encounter with Kim, the wish coordinator, with our two volunteers Lyne and Sylvie and with the people of Disney, Universal, Westjet and Give Kids The World, it was as if someone said to us “don’t let go, we are with you!” Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to the people that made Louis’s wish a reality.
