variety village logo

Variety Village is pleased to host exciting special events throughout the year. Our goal is to connect with our community and raise funds to support Variety Village by creating mutually beneficial events that support healthy, active lifestyles in an inclusive environment.

Some events are fundraising initiatives, others are dedicated to the recognition of outstanding community service and still others focus on development of future leaders. Over the years, many individuals and corporations have generously contributed to the overwhelming success and growth of these events, ensuring the delivery of vital community services and the promotion of a healthier tomorrow.

We invite you to get involved and make our special events even more special.

Hosted by the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario

These 31st Annual Games will be Her Honour’s second year attending this long standing event. Her Honour interacts with all of children with disabilities from GTA schools by visiting each activity station and then presents each child with a medal recognizing his/her participation. The Games are a great way to show that children of all abilities can and should participate in sports and recreational activities together. Many of the participants continue their involvement in sports through community sport and recreation leagues and some even go on to represent Canada in the Paralympics and Special Olympics.

The mission of Professor Owl’s Book Corner is to provide specialized information to young adults with special needs, chronic illness and learning challenges.

Professor Owl’s Book Corner is a hub of resources for young adults (13+) with special needs, chronic illness and learning challenges. Each month we produce a complimentary newsletter to showcase special activities, news and crafts for those who are ill or have needs out of the ordinary.

These activities include reading challenges, games, safe web surfing, prizes and a special page; where we feature monthly heroes from the Variety Foundation.

Professor Owl will also give monthly book reviews and news on the latest YA books that have been released.
