Variety Village is pleased to host exciting special events throughout the year. Our goal is to connect with our community and raise funds to support Variety Village by creating mutually beneficial events that support healthy, active lifestyles in an inclusive environment.
Some events are fundraising initiatives, others are dedicated to the recognition of outstanding community service and still others focus on development of future leaders. Over the years, many individuals and corporations have generously contributed to the overwhelming success and growth of these events, ensuring the delivery of vital community services and the promotion of a healthier tomorrow.
We invite you to get involved and make our special events even more special.

31st Annual Lieutenant Governor Games
Friday, February 26, 2016
10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Hosted by the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario
These 31st Annual Games will be Her Honour’s second year attending this long standing event. Her Honour interacts with all of children with disabilities from GTA schools by visiting each activity station and then presents each child with a medal recognizing his/her participation. The Games are a great way to show that children of all abilities can and should participate in sports and recreational activities together. Many of the participants continue their involvement in sports through community sport and recreation leagues and some even go on to represent Canada in the Paralympics and Special Olympics.

Details
Autism Village’s mission is to apply Internet and Mobile technologies to provide a globally accessible platform which helps the autism community to manage practical day to day problems. Our goal is to improve the futures of all people with autism by making daily life more navigable.
There are a myriad of educational apps on the internet for parents of autistic children, but Autism Village is different. Autism Village is producing apps which are especially designed to be useful for managing life with autism and which are based on their community of autism “Villagers”.
