Desperate to find a cure for polio, a highly contagious, disabling and sometimes fatal disease, volunteers went door-to-door in their neighbourhood’s, collecting donations for the March of Dimes. But long after the vaccine’s discovery, women and men continue the annual marches. The funds initially assisted polio survivors, but today they support a wide range of vital services for adults and children with physical disabilities across Canada.

March of Dimes’ Canada dear friend Justin Hines appointed to the Order of Ontario. Justin was also the very first”Hero of the month in “Professor Owl’s Book Corners’s newsletter.
Justin Hines has been a friend of March of Dimes for over eight years. Justin has thrived all his life, despite odds that would daunt someone with a less indomitable spirit. He has Larsen Syndrome, a joint dislocation condition that has him permanently using a wheelchair.
Justin has performed across the globe, throughout Europe, China, the Middle East, South Africa and North America. He performed at the Beijing Olympics supported by Sheila E, the Vancouver Olympics and the Pan Am Games in Mexico. He has released five studio albums, and his latest, ‘How We Fly’ was released in May, 2013 and is available in stores and online.
This past summer, Justin embarked on his ambitious Vehicle of Change tour, where he rode an RV across North America, raising money for a number of different charities, including March of Dimes Canada.
