About Road2Hope and Jason’s House

In 2007, with the generous sponsorship of The Runner’s Den, Jason’s’ House 1st annual 5 kilometer Walk/Run was organized at McQueston Park in Hamilton. Approximately 50 community supporters, including patrons of the Runner’s Den raised over $3500 for the home. Since then we have made this an annual event, with the continued support from the Runner’s Den.

In 2009, The Runner’s Den graciously invited Jason’s House to participate in their annual Road2Hope Marathon; this is a recognized pre-qualifier for the Boston Marathon. With a commitment to our Supporters and Donors that funds raised by the Committee would continue to be retained for the home, the Committee readily agreed to join the Road2Hope.

The Committee aspires to continue providing residents of Jason’s’ House with the financial means to access specialized camps and attend community events and special outings, with the aid of a trained personal attendant.

Jason Sooley Masters

January 7, 1970 – April 8, 2012

On April 8, 2012, one of the founding residents, Jason Sooley Masters, the home’s name sake and dear friend passed away, we are inspired to continue this event in his memory. Jason had a bright active mind, at the age of 18, with the support of his family and friends, was instrumental in the creation of Jason’s House. Jason’s House celebrated its 20th Anniversary in 2010. Jason’s dream is a reality, a home where he and others like him could live full independent lives.
